We pray that you’re searching for truth in God and to show yourself approved (2 Tim:15). The journey is not easy; we must tone down the noise from family and friends who claim to have the answer but no reference to show us. Claiming their beliefs were passed down from their parents and relatives, who neither studied nor understood the things which they affirmed, they place the same trap before us.
God warned us long ago of who to follow and the way to learn about him:
Isaiah 6:22 – Stop trusting in mere humans, who have but a breath in their nostrils. Why hold them in esteem? (NIV)
John 14:26 – But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you. (NKJV)
In order for the Holy Spirit to bring these things to our remembrance, we have to stay in the word of God. As Joshua said, “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” (Joshua 1:8, NKJV)
No one will ever teach us everything we need to know about God. Some can help while others lead astray. We pray that everyone begins to study like the Bereans (Acts 17:11) and confirm what their learning to be true.
May God bless, strengthen and equip you for the calling he has set before you.
